Aviation Skills Partnership (ASP) are pleased to announce that a unique event will take place at the annual RAF Cosford Air Show on Sunday 11th June. As part of the show, the development of a new innovative educational hub will be announced to the public. The Whittle STEM Innovation Hub, led by ASP, will be a new facility at the iconic RAF Cosford Museum location and will be working to support young people to pursue careers in aviation, space, and aerospace.

ASP are pleased to be working with the support of our fellow partners, including the RAF, Open University, RAF Museum and Industry. ASP are dedicated to creating professionals of tomorrow. We will be showcasing our Skills Zones, which are part of our industry-leading International Aviation Academies. When the hub is completed, it will combine tried and tested educational techniques with new hands-on technology to inspire and educate young people.

In an exciting UK first, the technology on show will include 360° live streaming. Attendees can download the Youth Aviation app (available now for free on IOS & Android) allowing them to see the 360° live stream from the AeroSPARX GROB109B as it taxis out, takes-off, and entertains the crowds. This is a first in the UK, and the app can be used to stream it from all over the world along with Social Media platforms. They will also be live-streaming video from a high-altitude balloon that will be going to the edge of space.

There will also be the opportunity to get up close and personal. The hub will feature a build-a-plane activity, a GliderFX display plane, the Open University’s Mars Rover project, and the chance to interact with the space shuttle in 3D. This will be a unique opportunity for the industry to reach out to the next generation.

Other technology on show will include augmented and virtual reality. This will showcase the kind of innovative new technology to inspire and educate young people., along with unique ASP Pathways to guide and support the inspiring generations. It is this kind of innovative technology that ASP is employing across all our academies.
